Today’s song is “David Foster Wallace” by The Ugly Club. This is the latest single off the NJ quintet’s upcoming full-length record. The Ugly Club is a diverse and ever-growing project of musical ideas and stylings. The brainchild of of Ryan Egan, Taylor Mandel, Joe Stasio, Ryan McNulty, and Rick Sue-Poi, the band brings together unique musicality and songwriting to create a refreshing form of psychedelic indie-rock. Reminiscent of bands like Broken Bells and My Morning Jacket, the sound is eclectic and progressive. The group has self produced & released two EPs, Sing What You Want and their latest Visions of Tall Girl, which was engineered and produced by guitarist Joe Stasio at Soundwaves Studio in Union, NJ. Over the course of two years The Ugly Club has opened venues such as Starland Ballroom, The Stone Pony, & Webster Hall, and continues to build their buzz all throughout the tri-state area. The Ugly Club has a sound that is sure to catch your attention.
