iTunes Will Increase the Price of the Hottest Tracks to $1.29 April 7

With pressure from record labels, the online music store iTunes is abandoning its 99-cent-only strategy and will boost the price of many hit singles and classic tracks to $1.29 on April 7th.

This strategy is an attempt by the music industry to get more revenue from digital downloads to offset the declining CD sales.
