Fueled by the Top 20 Pop Song chart success of its first single “Wanted”, the self-titled debut album ‘Jessie James’ (released August 11th on Mercury Records) quickly crossed the finish line to #1 on the iTunes Pop Album Chart and #1 on Amazon’s MP3 chart – and now makes a solid Soundscan debut at #24.
It was also the #7 Digital Album. With her debut album and “Wanted” burning up the fast lane, Jessie’s second single “I Look So Good (Without You)” is set to impact at Top 40 radio on August 24th and Hot AC on September 14th. “Wanted” has sold more than 300,000 copies since its release in May, and the sultry video – added at MTV, MTV Hits, Myspace, AOL, Yahoo! and Music Choice.
MTV continued its support by naming James a “Discover and Download” artist. After Myspace featured the video in April and it was named AOL’s Video Of The Day in May, iTunes picked up “Wanted” as Video Of The Week in June, and over 200,000 fans downloaded the clip.
Jessie has teamed with FOX-TV’s cable network SPEED™ as the face for their upcoming SPEED™ Dream Ride programming and promotional event, scheduled to run from Thanksgiving Day through New Year’s Day. Jessie has re-grooved her catchy rock gem “Bullet” (cowritten with pal Katy Perry) – “Be careful what you wish for/ You get what you see/ Is that a gun in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?” – with a customized theme for the “Dream Ride” campaign. The new track will underscore a wide multimedia spectrum of branding initiatives, surrounding multiple marathons of SPEED’s most popular weekly programming, as well as the series premiere of Dangerous Drives, a new prime time series debuting Thanksgiving Day. SPEED™ will also highlight a national consumer microsite-driven “Dream Ride” mega-sweepstakes with a chance to win an extraordinary VIP experience at California’s historic Laguna Seca Raceway.
