Airborne Toxic Event ‘All At Once” Out Now!

Los Angeles based rock band The Airborne Toxic Event‘s sophomore record, All At Once, on Island Records is out now. All At Once is the band’s first studio album since their 2008 self-titled debut, which was named “Debut Album of the Year” by the Boston Herald. First single “Changing” is currently #9 at Alternative Radio. All At Once is already being hailed by critics as even more impressive then band’s successful debut, with SPIN Magazine calling the album “The rock’n’roll equivalent of a tear-soaked novella.” Drowned In Sound awarded the album 8 out of 10, calling the album “A resolute triumph in the face of adversity.” The Guardian proclaimed the songs to be “Instant, stadium-size anthems,” with KCRW noting similarly that the album is “passionate, dynamic, anthemic…their expansive sound is too large to be contained.” Q Magazine loved the album’s “U2-esque balladry, glam stomps, rabble rousing folk and soaring FM pop,” concluding that the album is “just about perfect.”

The band also has a number of television appearances to promote their highly anticipated album. Thursday, April 28, they will be playing the outside stage on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. On April 20, the band will bring their presence to The Late Show with David Letterman, as well as being the musical guest on hit show Gossip Girl during the May 16th season finale.

Since its release in 2008, The Airborne Toxic Event, the band’s self-titled debut album has sold over 200,000 copies in the U.S., and over 300,000 copies internationally. Named “Debut Album of the Year” by the Boston Herald, the record spent 53 weeks on the BillboardHeatseekers chart, with eight of those weeks logged at #1. The album’s breakthrough single “Sometime Around Midnight” rose to #4 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart, and was named Alternative Song Of The Year at iTunes. The next single, “Wishing Well,” broke the Top 20 at Alternative radio. The songs received major airplay internationally on BBC Radio 1 in the UK, Australia, France, Germany, Austria, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, and South East Asia.

The Airborne Toxic Event – Mikel Jollett(vocals, guitar, keyboards), Steven Chen(guitar, keyboards), Anna Bulbrook(viola, keyboards, tambourine, backing vocals), Noah Harmon (bass, backing vocals), and Daren Taylor (drums) – have also just begun their tour of the United States, playing five nights in a row in Los Angeles this week at five different venues, each one larger than the night before. The band will tour the United States and Europe throughout May and June, and have already sold out numerous shows in Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, London, and Chicago. The band have earned their reputation as an aggressive touring act, known for playing more than 350 dates in support of their debut album release, supporting Kings of Leon, Franz Ferdinand, the Ting Tings, and many others. The Airborne Toxic Event is certainly no stranger to grand musical gestures. They were the only modern music artists to perform at the esteemed Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles during its 2009 fall season. The result was the concert-documentary film All I Ever Wanted, released September 2010, and chosen as an official selection to the Raindance Film Festival. The band will also be performing with The Colorado Symphony later this month. Full-scale U.S. and European tours will follow this spring, with dates to be announced February 15th.
