The end of this month we will say goodbye to the legendary Maxwells in Hoboken, NJ. According to NJ.com The rock club’s lease will be up at the end of this month. Unfortunately, owners said they couldn’t justify continuing to keep the club up and running.
Living in Hoboken, I have frequented the establishment a lot over the past couple years. I’ve seen some great shows at Maxwells. It was also a refreshing escape from the monotony of generic, fist pumping sports bars that line the streets of this city. This is truly a disappointment and am sad to see it go.
Maxwells will be closing on Wednesday, July 31st with a block party that starts at 4 pm.
