Song of the Day: “Manic Pixie” by IIIZ

Today’s song is “Manic Pixie” by IIIZ. Pronounced “eyes” this Palm Desert, California foursome consists of Ison Van Winkle (lead singer), Mari Brossfield (second lead singer), Jacob Gutierrez (Bass and key bass), and Ross Murakami (Drums).

The band has been playing together for 4 years. Most of the bands songs are written by lead singer Ison Van Winkle who writes all parts and then works with his band members to fine tune the sound outside of the computer where they were created.

IIIZ has a 80’s electronica influence with a current alternative rock that makes for some bumping music. The compilation of the intricate instruments ranging from thumping bass to jarring electronic melodies creates a sonic sound that would fit right in with the desert Coachella music fest.

This song is off their upcoming debut album set to release sometime this year.
