Song of the Day: “Emotionless” by Red Rising Sun

Today’s song is “Emotionless” by Red Rising Sun. The Ohio group consists of Mike Protich (vocals/guitar), Ryan Williams (guitar), Ricky Miller (bass/vocals), Dave McGarry (guitar/vocals) and Pat Gerasia (drums).

The The band started off playing local gigs and frequently performed all over the Midwest relying entirely on social media as well as word of mouth which allowed them to build a strong and dedicated fan-base.

Though they released two albums independently in their early years, Red Sun Rising received critical success when they released their latest album Polyester Zeal via Razor & Tie in August 2015.

“Emotionless” is the latest single from the band which recently premiered exclusively on VEVO.

The video brings to life the concept of the song and it’s inspiration. Vocalist/guitarist Mike Protich said: “Emotionless is unique because it came to me in a dream. The visual was vivid and haunting enough that describing it yielded song lyrics. It’s sometimes hard to understand something from the subconscious so our only hope was to create a song. With the help of Director Dylan Marko Bell, we finally brought everything to life… or lack thereof.”

The track is a raw power house of emotion. It brings back the best of 90’s grunge with a lovable rock sensibility that we have been missing.

This band will be right at home for fans of Sevendust, Shinedown, Chevelle, and Alice in Chains.
