Today’s song is “Cinders in the Breeze” by The Falling Birds The Brooklyn, NY band is comprised of Stephen Artemis (Guitar, Vocals, Harmonia) and David Burton (Drums, Keys).

The two came together in 2011 and played their first show in New York’s Lower East Side and honed their sound while gigging throughout NYC for the next several years.

In 2015 they recorded and self-produced their EP ’Til We All Fall Down in their basement. It garnered internet and radio acclaim and landed the guys a spot at CMJ 2015 as well as independent tours throughout the US, UK and Canada.

This past year the band made their first appearance in Austin, Texas during the South by Southwest Festival and Brooklyn’s Northside Festival.

This garage duo has a striped down, no frills approach to rock ’n’ roll. They take blues and folk influence with a dash of punk rock for fuzzed out garage rock that as an Americana appeal.

This is the latest track off their upcoming EP, What Is There to Talk About, due out February 17, 2017. The EP was recorded at SpeakerSonic Studio in Brooklyn, N.Y. and co-produced by The Falling Birds and Brian Speaker (Jeffrey Lewis, The Femdoms, Amateur Blonde, Crazy and the Brains). Mastering was done by Grammy Award nominated engineer Jeff Lipton (Arcade Fire, Dropkick Murphys, LCD Sound System, Heartless Bastards) at Peerless Mastering in Boston, MA. East Coast tour dates have been scheduled.
