It’s been two years since the Warped Tour wrapped leaving a hole in the hearts of emo kids everywhere. Last summer we were given a taste of the past with the Warped Tour’s 25th-anniversary concert. If you lived near one of the three locations you were able to see some of the great acts that graced the warped stages over the last 25 years of its inception.
The Twittersphere was sparked with some hope of a new Warped Tour. Festival founder Kevin Lyman hinted that there could be a new festival brewing after fan, Sam Lizzo tweeted saying “If Kevin Lyman doesn’t bring Warped Tour back next summer, there’s nothing for us emo kids to live for.”
In response, Lyman tweeted “It might just be called something else.”
Though it seems we will not be seeing big festivals anytime soon it will be nice to have something to look forward to in the future. Some states like Missouri are allowing concerts as long as social distancing guidelines are followed.
This seems hard to do especially when health experts are saying it’s unethical to re-open the American economy within just a few months. They are speculating that concerts, festivals, and sporting events may not be back to normal until fall 2021 at the earliest.
It might just be called something else.
